New Goals
Tuesday, March 03, 2009
Since graduating from Glenville State College in 2005, I have applied to a
medical school in West Virginia two different times. I would like to stay in
West Virginia so I chose a career that would allow me to do so. I have a
B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Chemistry. I can do many things with my
degrees, but the medical profession intrigues me. Unfortunately I been
placed on the alternate list and I have been rejected by the West Virginia
medical school. I could go into laboratory work, become an environmentalist
for a West Virginia factory, join the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or do
many other jobs with my background, but instead I would like to go back to
school. I belong in the medical profession. Being turned down from medical
school has not deterred me; it has just redirected my goals. Currently, I
work as an EMT with a local emergency medical service. I enjoy the
adrenaline rush that comes along with this job, and I enjoy the relaxing
times of holding a patients hand to calm them down. I plan to get my B.S.N
then continue my education to become a Certified Registered Nurse
Anesthesiologist. I am eager to focus on nursing so I can become better
educated and finally start my career in medicine.
